Paul W. Sweet, BS ’73 (1943-2014) served as the senior vice president for finance and membership for the Western New York Healthcare Association (WNYHA) as well as past president and longtime member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA). Mr. Sweet formerly had been chief financial officer at Mount St. Mary’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital, and BryLin Hospital before moving to the Healthcare Association 20 years ago. He was active in the community around him as well, serving for a Board member of Nardin Academy and an active organizer of alumni events for Orchard Park High School.

To honor the memory of Mr. Paul Sweet, the Western New York Healthcare Association and Healthcare Financial Management Association, created an endowed fund within the University at Buffalo Foundation, Inc. (the “Foundation”) to provide financial assistance to School of Management undergraduate or graduate students with demonstrated interest in the areas of healthcare finance and/or accounting at the State University of New York at Buffalo (“UB”).
